I was in the sauna this evening, getting my sweat in. And about 20 minutes in, a couple big-hulkin powerlifters opened the door and came inside.
One took a seat in the upper loft while the other, who was almost as big as a Jeep, had already had enough. He told his buddy, “Too hot for me. I’m outta here.” He left.
All that bulk and the hulk couldn’t hang.
The guy who stayed told me he used the sauna after deadlifting. Said he had to loosen up to prevent soreness from the training he did.
“Good idea,” I remarked.
Then he started telling me how he was in the sauna at 5 AM the other day, warming up.
“As I was sitting here chillin, I heard shouts in the locker room. Then I heard a couple loud bangs. Turns out two dudes were fist fighting in the locker room. At 5 freakin AM. Now when have you ever seen a fight that early?”
“I don’t think I ever have,” I replied. “Maybe they needed a sauna followed by a cold plunge. That would settle them down.”
I sat it out another 10 minutes and left.
On my drive home I kept thinking about how crazy it would be to see the 5 AM fisticuffs, as well as how many people would have filmed it for airing on social media.
Sitting in the sauna is a superb way to begin or end your day. It helps you relax and unwind your mind, especially when you combine it with deep breathing, visualization and some mobility work.
It’s almost impossible to sauna for 30 minutes and feel inclined to duke it out with someone, no matter what time it is. No matter how angry you are.
In future articles, I’ll go into some other benefits of a daily sauna, physical as well as psycho-spiritual.
In the interim, if you want to be more of a peaceful warrior instead of an angry one, check out the methods I teach at psycho-cybernetics.com - especially the classic 35-million copies bestseller that has changed lives all over the planet.
