I didn’t expect this at all. Not in the least.
There I was, sweating my azz off in the hot box. And a little after midnight, two gents from Puerto Rico joined me. Then another guy who moved to Florida from Philadelphia. And yet another, who “teleported” from California.
After a few minutes of rapport building, the topic of the moon landing came up.
“Do you believe we put a man on the moon?” one man questioned.
“Interesting you ask,” I began. “Back in September of 2002, I went to the U.K. and Ireland to give some seminars. During my first night in London, the host who arranged the seminars, took me to a pub for dinner. We were joined there by two of his students, And for some unknown reason, the moon landing came up.”
“And what did you hear?” the guy from Philly asked.
I continued, “Well, to my utter disbelief, all three gents told me that we (USA) never put a man on the moon. I was stunned to hear them saying this. In my entire life I had never heard anyone say such a thing. It sounded preposterous. But instead of instantly dismissing them, I listened to their explanations. Again, this was 2002. They were the first people I had ever met who said it was fake. But today, you can find people all over the place who don’t believe we ever put a moon on the moon.”
“So, do you now believe we put a man on the moon?” the Californian asked.
“I have doubts,” I replied.
After I said this the dam broke.
Every person in the sauna started to give details as to why he does NOT believe the narrative we were told.
Funny, eh?
21 years ago I had to travel to England to hear a different story about the supposed “man on the moon.” Now I can hear these counter-narratives in my own neighborhood. I can even hear them in a public sauna, after midnight.
What a whirld!
Do I believe we ever truly put a man on the moon?
I don’t know and I really don’t care.
But I do enjoy looking into this situation and how worked up some people can get over something that was, at one time, considered “a historical fact.”

It looks as though other nations have the same problem with failing public schools that both the United States and Canada have.
