If you’re running low on energy, there are many things you can do to turns things around. Today I’m going to cover two of my personal favorites.
The first is to change the way you use your body. This means that you engage in exercise that is energy elevating or expanding rather than enervating.
Working out harder can do the trick sometimes, but if you’re already depleted, it’s most likely the wrong idea.
On the other hand, if you engage in stillness exercises, you will quickly see a dramatic shift in your energy.
All you appear to be doing is standing still, but inside your body a remarkable reset is taking place. The bottoms of your feet root into the ground as the top of your head extends, energetically, into the clouds.
Within minutes you realize your body is recharging itself. Your feet feel as though they are plugged into an invisible socket as you notice an electrical tingling sensation in your hands and fingers.
Your hands and feet may begin feeling hot as your shoulders relax and let go of all unnecessary tension.
And as this happens, you begin to practice deep breathing, which is the second way to increase your vital energy.
Deep breathing, in and of itself, can recharge the body and brain. But when it is combined with stillness exercises, especially via the Power Postures I teach, you begin to feel a stronger surge of energy.
Standing still and breathing deeply can reset your internal energy mechanism within five minutes. It is similar to adjusting your thermostat. You note that the room is too cold, so you change the temperature manually, and the mechanism kicks in to automatically heat the room.
Your body has an internal mechanism designed to keep your core temperature at 98.6°. Your body also has an energy mechanism, but you won’t realize this unless you know how to activate it. Once you see and experience how it works, you cannot un-see it.
Those who work out vigorously would be wise to balance out their training with stillness, as it helps you recover far faster than you can imagine.
As for those who simply want more productivity in their daily lives without beating yourself into the ground, Power Postures gives it to you.
Five minutes of this type of training will make a believer out of you.
